Most pool cover manufacturers sew their webbing straps to the fabric. Stitching creates needle holes — thousands of them — that weaken the material and become failure points over time. UV exposure and chemical contact accelerate the breakdown at every perforation.
Integra uses a Weldmaster heat-seal process that fuses webbing directly to the fabric at a molecular level. No needle holes. No thread to rot. No weak points. The result is a continuous bond that's stronger than the fabric itself — and it stays that way for years.

Every Aegis cover is heat-sealed at our Knoxville, Tennessee facility using industrial Weldmaster equipment. The process creates a weld that exceeds the tensile strength of the base fabric — meaning the bond will never be the failure point.
This matters because pool covers live in the harshest conditions: constant UV, chlorine gas, freeze-thaw cycles, and mechanical stress from daily operation. Stitched covers fail at the seams. Aegis covers don't have seams to fail.

Aegis fabric uses UV-stabilized 18-oz woven vinyl with an acrylic topcoat that resists chlorine, bromine, salt, and ozone degradation. The stabilizers are integrated into the material during manufacturing — not sprayed on after.
This means the protection doesn't wash off, wear off, or fade away. The fabric maintains its structural integrity and appearance through years of daily chemical exposure and full-sun conditions.

Standing water on a pool cover is a drowning hazard and accelerates fabric wear. Aegis covers are engineered with surface tension and drainage channels that move rainwater off the cover efficiently.

Slightly. Darker colors (Black, Charcoal, Navy) absorb more solar energy and can warm pool water by 2-5°F more than lighter colors. Lighter colors (Tan, Light Gray) reflect more heat and stay cooler to the touch. All seven colors use identical base fabric with the same UV stabilizers, chemical resistance, and 7-year warranty. Choose based on aesthetics — performance differences are minimal.

Use a garden hose to rinse chlorine residue and debris from the fabric surface. Do not use a pressure washer — it can damage the acrylic topcoat.
Twice a year, clean with mild soap and water. Avoid harsh chemicals, bleach, or abrasive cleaners. Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry before retracting.
Keep tracks clear of debris. Flush tracks with a hose quarterly. Inspect webbing and rope connections annually for wear — contact your dealer if you notice fraying.
