Low Offset Mechanism — 16-Inch Offset for Pools Up to 20x50

When deck space is limited, the Low Offset system delivers the same stainless steel engineering in a compact 16-inch footprint.

Designed for Pools Where Space Is the Constraint

Not every pool has the deck space for a standard mechanism housing. Retaining walls, property lines, raised bond beams, waterfalls, and tight backyards all create situations where a full-size mechanism simply won't fit. The Low Offset Mechanism was engineered specifically for these pools — requiring only 16 inches of offset from the pool edge to the back of the housing. It handles pools up to 20 feet wide and 50 feet long with the same all-stainless steel construction, the same ASTM F1346 certification, and the same 20-year mechanism warranty as the Standard system.

When to Specify Low Offset

The Low Offset Mechanism is the right choice when any of these conditions apply:

  • Limited deck space — Less than 24 inches of available space behind the pool edge at the mechanism end
  • Retaining walls or property lines — Structural or legal boundaries that prevent a full-size housing installation
  • Raised bond beams or waterfalls — Elevated features at the mechanism end that restrict housing height and depth
  • Retrofit installations — Existing pools where the original construction didn't account for a cover mechanism
  • Pool width 20 feet or less — The Low Offset system handles widths up to 20 feet; if the pool is wider, specify the Standard Mechanism
  • Pool length 50 feet or less — Same constraint; pools longer than 50 feet require the Standard system

Same Engineering, Smaller Footprint

The Low Offset isn't a "budget" version of the Standard Mechanism. It uses the same stainless steel components, the same rope reel design, the same adjustable torque limiter, and the same aluminum track system. The difference is the motor — a compact hollow-shaft BISON motor designed specifically for the reduced offset housing — and the maximum pool size it can handle. If your pool fits within the 20 x 50 foot limit, the Low Offset delivers identical performance and the same 20-year warranty. The choice between Standard and Low Offset is purely a matter of available space and pool dimensions.

Low Offset Motor

The Low Offset motor is a compact hollow-shaft BISON unit engineered to fit within the 16-inch housing envelope. It delivers the same torque and reliability as the Standard system's E2000 motor, scaled for pools up to 20 x 50 feet.
